Downtaking and soft strip require a methodical approach, strategic planning, and meticulous execution to efficiently prepare spaces for renovation or redevelopment while minimising disruption.
Although the techniques involved in Downtakings, and Soft Strip are rudimentary it’s not always a simple task. Our speciality is operating within the constraints imposed by city centre locations, busy commercial districts or within live business concerns. Public safety, sustainability targets and waste logistics in these environments can be challenging to address, especially with deadlines for future developments of the spaces we are clearing.
We work with trusted partners to provide decommissioning services including electrical, gas and water disconnections, Refrigerant gas recovery, removal of firefighting equipment, COSHH and WEEE Waste. We can also provide industry leading fire and security cover for the duration of the works.

Key operational objectives of the company are to identify and maximise opportunities in relation to sustainability, Net Zero targets and minimising our environmental impact. Working with our clients and other stakeholders, opportunities are identified at tender stage and managed throughout the project though the site team and senior management.
Adopting the hierarchy of control principles, we strive to avoid tasks and activities that have harmful impacts on the environment by elimination, substitution and the introduction of control measures.
We have well established procedures for waste data collection for BREEAM credit reporting, working to the WRAP Quality Protocols and adopting DoWCoP through CL:AIRE.
