This year, the NFDC collaborated with The Graham Fulford Charitable Trust (GFCT) to promote prostate cancer screening awareness.
On May 5th, 2025, we enhanced our employee wellness initiative by implementing their Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) campaign, by distributing PSA self-health tests to all Kinetic Demolition employees over 40.
Early detection via testing is vital for prevention and proactive healthcare. Prostate cancer is the most prevalent cancer among men in the UK, stemming from uncontrolled cell growth in the prostate gland, resulting in tumour formation. While frequently slow-growing and without symptoms, it can be aggressive, potentially metastasizing, and necessitate immediate treatment.
Around 52,000 men in the UK receive a diagnosis annually, exceeding 140 each day. It is a leading cause of cancer-related deaths, accounting for over 12,000 fatalities yearly. However, early detection substantially enhances treatment outcomes and survival rates.
This campaign highlights proactive health management and increasing awareness of men’s health concerns. We strongly advocate for wider participation and ongoing dialogue on this significant subject.
